A Small School Where Athletes Get Real Opportunities

Why Breakers Athletics

This page is here to help you picture the student-athlete side of life at Pine Tree Academy: the teams, the pathway, the coaches, and the community your family would be joining. For everything else, from admissions and tuition to academics and boarding, Pine Tree Academy's official school site is the place to go, and the admissions team loves hearing from families.

Play, don't wait

Small rosters mean minutes, multiple sports, and coaching attention.

Compete for real

Varsity teams compete through the Maine Principals' Association.

Grow in faith

A Seventh-day Adventist Christian school where faith is part of daily life.

Be known

Coaches, teachers, and teammates know every athlete by name.

Lead early

Upperclassmen mentor younger Breakers across the pathway.

Live on campus

A boarding opportunity for students who need school and sport in one place.

Snowsports

Through the winter, Pine Tree Academy runs a weekly snowsports program with trips to local ski areas. Students can choose skiing or snowboarding, and lessons and equipment are available at special program pricing, so beginners can start from scratch alongside experienced riders.

The Breakers Experience

Four ideas shape what athletics looks like at Pine Tree Academy.

Compete

Varsity Breakers compete on a real schedule against Maine schools, with the standard set in practice every week.

Develop

A pathway from Littles through varsity means athletes grow inside one program instead of starting over each year.

Belong

In a small school, athletes are known by name. Teams are communities, not tryout lists.

Lead

Older Breakers coach, mentor, and set the tone for the students coming up behind them.
