Boys Varsity Soccer
Head Coach
A former All-American and an inductee of the New York Soccer Hall of Fame, Remmes-Davis long held the New York high school record with 168 career goals. She played NCAA Division I soccer at James Madison University, played in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, and played professionally in France's Première Ligue for Montpellier and EA Guingamp.

A standout player during her own years as a Breaker, Marden returned to Pine Tree Academy in 2025 to coach the girls varsity soccer program she once played in.

Head Coach
Davis played at Pine Tree Academy grades 6-10, then grades 11-12 at Shenandoah Valley Academy in Virginia. He then competed in NCAA Division II basketball and soccer at Columbia Union College and semi-pro basketball in the Washington DC Pro-Am League. He also has international experience playing professional basketball in Switzerland for Bernex Basket, as well as in France for EM Lyon (University) where he was the team captain as well as coach of the university women's team.

A former Pine Tree Academy varsity player, Dayen has coached the PTA girls varsity basketball program since 2012, winning over 100 games, and taking his Breaker teams to the State Regional Semi-Finals. A graduate of Southwestern Adventist University, he also serves as PTA's Athletic Director, bringing a firsthand understanding of the school to both roles.

Why PTA Athletics
Pine Tree Academy is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian school open to students of all faiths. Faith shapes how Breakers teams practice, compete, travel, and treat opponents. It is part of the program, not a slogan on a wall.
Teams pray together, travel together, and are held to the same standard of character off the court as on it. Student-athletes here are asked to carry the school's name well, and coaches treat that expectation as part of coaching, not an add-on to it.
Varsity Breakers compete through the Maine Principals' Association against Maine schools. The standard on the floor and on the field is real, and athletes are asked to meet it.
PTA competes in the East-West Conference, and varsity teams play a full schedule with a genuine path into regional and state tournament competition. Recent Breakers teams have reached MPA regional rounds in both soccer and basketball, and both varsity basketball programs have traveled out of state to compete against much larger schools.
A small school means more minutes, more coaching attention, and more chances to try a new position or a second sport. Athletes develop instead of waiting their turn.
The pathway is continuous. Littles and middle school teams feed grades 7-8, boys JV basketball, and varsity, so a player who arrives in elementary school and one who arrives as a transfer both step into the same system, with coaches who already know where they fit and what they need next.
Teams here are communities. Younger students know the varsity players, and varsity players know the Littles coming up behind them.
Day students and boarding students play side by side, and the stands fill with classmates, teachers, and families who know every name on the roster. In a school this size, no athlete is anonymous, and no season goes unnoticed.
Upperclassmen mentor, help run youth practices, and represent the program in the community. Leadership is practiced here, not just discussed.
Balancing academics, a sport, faith commitments, and service is the normal rhythm of a Breakers student-athlete. Teachers and coaches often overlap, so the same adults who see a student in class see how they respond after a tough loss, and they coach both.
