Breakers Open a New Class S Basketball Era

Pine Tree Academy is among the Maine programs beginning the 2025-26 basketball season under the state's new Class S small-school classification.

The Breakers were featured in Portland Press Herald coverage of the new era, including PTA junior Lisette Hakizimana at practice as teams got an early start on the winter season.

For Pine Tree Academy, Class S means competing against schools of similar size — a change the program enters with its full slate of boys and girls basketball teams.
