Breakers Shut Out Carrabec 1–0 Behind Outstanding Team Effort

FREEPORT, Maine — Pine Tree Academy girls varsity soccer earned a 1–0 home victory over the Carrabec Cobras on Friday, October 9, 2026, in a match that began at 2:30 p.m. Lisette Hakizimana scored the second-half winner, while a unified team effort helped the Breakers preserve the shutout.

Both teams battled through a competitive first half. PTA generated 11 shots during the match, with effective passing, movement, and through balls helping the Breakers develop their attack. Their improving attacking movement paid off in the second half when Hakizimana found the net for the game's only goal.

Daphne Poirier played aggressively in goal, coming off her line to challenge Carrabec's attacks and make important saves. Ilka Isaro and Emma O'Brien each made a crucial goal-line stop when Poirier came forward, providing vital cover behind their goalkeeper, who faced 19 shots from Carrabec.

Maddie Jones and O'Brien also pushed forward from defense to support PTA's attacks, helping connect the defensive line with the team's midfield and attacking movement.
