Breakers Start Fast in 6–4 Home-Opening Win Over Chop Point
By Breakers Media Team · September 19, 2026
The Pine Tree Academy middle school soccer team made the most of its first home game of the season Friday afternoon, starting quickly and getting contributions throughout the roster in a 6–4 victory over Chop Point School.
Coming off a 5–2 road victory over Coastal Christian School in the season opener, the Breakers wasted little time getting started in front of their home crowd. Pine Tree Academy scored within the first two minutes and went on to find the net six times against the Blue Bears.
Granten Verrill, Sam Cornish, Thatcher Trubey, and Rylan Ingenzi were among the goal scorers for a PTA attack that produced opportunities throughout the match.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the aggressive attacking play from the girls on Pine Tree Academy’s co-ed roster. Winnie Brace, Nora Lounder, and Campbell Trubey were especially active in pushing forward and helping create offensive opportunities for the Breakers.
Coach Garcia highlighted “the girls attacking and everyone getting meaningful minutes” as two of the biggest positives from the victory.
With more than 20 players on the roster this season, Pine Tree Academy was also able to use the home opener as an opportunity to get everyone involved. Every player on the roster saw the field and received meaningful playing time.
That opportunity was particularly valuable in the team’s first game of the season at Pine Tree Academy, where the Breakers played in front of a strong and supportive home crowd.
After opening the season on the road, PTA’s fast start and six-goal performance gave the home crowd plenty to celebrate. Just as importantly, the Breakers were able to involve the entire roster while continuing their strong start to the season with a 6–4 victory.
