Breakers Stay Unbeaten With 8–0 Win at Temple
By Breakers Media Team · September 22, 2026
The Pine Tree Academy boys varsity soccer team stayed unbeaten Tuesday afternoon, defeating Temple Academy 8–0 on the road in Maine Class 8v8 South play. The match was ended early by the mercy rule as the Breakers improved to 5–0 on the season, while Temple fell to 1–3-2 with the loss.
Four Breakers found the net twice each. Lucky Kabeya and Collin Verrill scored two goals apiece, as did Camden Brace and Fitzroy Hakizimana.
Hakizimana was also the game's most productive playmaker, finishing with three assists to go with his two goals for a five-point afternoon. Verrill added an assist to his pair of goals.
Camden Brace struck twice in quick succession shortly after halftime, stretching the lead before Temple could settle back into the match.
Throughout the afternoon, Pine Tree Academy's attack ran through patient passing and quick ball movement. The Breakers held possession well and created chances through combination play, moving the ball from sideline to sideline until gaps opened in the Bereans' defense.
Defensively, the Breakers were equally composed, limiting Temple's chances and keeping play in the attacking half for long stretches of the match.
Five matches into the season, Pine Tree Academy remains without a blemish. With the attacking depth shown Tuesday — four different players scoring twice — the Breakers look increasingly like a team capable of making a deep run in the Class 8v8 South tournament come playoff time.
The Breakers return to the road next Tuesday, traveling to Wiscasset for a rematch of their 4–1 home win on September 11.
