Breakers Turn In Strong Team Effort in 2–1 Battle at Wiscasset
By Breakers Media Team · September 29, 2026
The Pine Tree Academy girls varsity soccer team put together a strong and consistent performance Tuesday afternoon, maintaining its energy and creating opportunities throughout a tightly contested 2–1 loss at Wiscasset High School.
Head Coach Natalie Marden highlighted the Breakers' good energy throughout the match, as PTA continued competing and working together from start to finish.
Offensively, Pine Tree Academy showed good teamwork and ball movement. Assistant Coach Eliana Tardiff highlighted the Breakers' work crashing the net and looking for open teammates as they generated opportunities in the attacking end.
PTA also did a good job using back passes and involving its defenders farther up the field. Maddie Jones was among those pushing forward from the back line and generated a shot on goal as the Breakers looked to create additional attacking options.
Pine Tree Academy's goal came through a well-worked combination between Alana Cardoza and Chantal Mbonimpa. Cardoza sent a beautiful cross into the attacking area, and Mbonimpa timed her run before finishing the opportunity for the Breakers.
Defensively, PTA used effective pressure and cover to disrupt Wiscasset's attack. The Breakers shut down a number of offensive plays while continuing to communicate and work together across the field.
Lisette Hakizimana highlighted the team's teamwork and consistent effort throughout the match. Despite the physical nature of the game and the narrow result, the Breakers remained positive and demonstrated good sportsmanship.
Tardiff felt Pine Tree Academy played well and created opportunities to win the game, even though Wiscasset ultimately came away with the 2–1 victory.
The result marked another competitive performance for the Breakers. PTA moved the ball well, involved its defense in the attack, created opportunities around the net, and defended effectively with good pressure and coverage while maintaining strong energy throughout the match.
