Three Pine Tree Academy Players Earn Regional All-Star Honors

By Breakers Media Team · November 7, 2026

Three Pine Tree Academy boys varsity soccer players have been named to the 2026 Southern Maine 8-Person Regional All-Star Team, recognizing their outstanding performances during one of the most successful seasons in program history.

The Maine Soccer Coaches Association announced its selections on November 6, honoring sophomore midfielder Fitzroy Hakizimana, senior defender Rhett Tyson, and senior forward Collin Verrill.

The recognition follows a remarkable season for the Breakers, who won their first 14 games, earned the No. 1 seed in Southern Maine, and advanced to the regional championship before finishing with an impressive 14–1 record.

Fitzroy Hakizimana — Sophomore, Midfielder

Hakizimana established himself as one of the region's standout young attacking players this fall. His ability to create scoring opportunities and finish in front of goal made him a constant threat for opposing defenses.

He delivered two goals and an assist in PTA's 5–0 regional quarterfinal victory over Rangeley, followed by another two goals and an assist in the 8–0 semifinal win against Temple Academy. He also found the back of the net in the regional championship against Telstar.

Earning All-Star recognition as a sophomore is an impressive achievement and sets the stage for an exciting future.

Rhett Tyson — Senior, Defender

A senior captain and an important presence in PTA's back line, Tyson helped anchor a defense that surrendered just two goals through the team's first 14 games.

His contributions extended well beyond defending. Tyson scored a hat trick in the regional semifinal against Temple Academy and added another goal in the championship game against Telstar.

This marks Tyson's third consecutive Regional All-Star selection, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects his versatility, consistency, and impact throughout his high school career.

Collin Verrill — Senior, Forward

Verrill provided a dangerous attacking presence throughout the season, combining strong finishing with the ability to create opportunities in front of goal.

Among his standout performances was a four-goal, one-assist effort in an 8–0 victory over Carrabec/Madison. He also scored twice against Valley and contributed to numerous other victories as PTA's attack powered the team's undefeated regular season.

His All-Star selection is a fitting recognition of his contributions to the Breakers' offense and his outstanding senior season.

A Well-Deserved Honor

Having three players selected to the regional team is another proud achievement for Pine Tree Academy boys soccer.

While Hakizimana, Tyson, and Verrill receive individual recognition, their success reflects the hard work and commitment of an entire team that put together a memorable 2026 campaign.

Congratulations to Fitzroy, Rhett, and Collin on earning Regional All-Star honors! Your dedication, performances, and contributions to PTA soccer have made the entire Breakers community proud.
