PERFECT SEASON: Breakers Finish 12–0 for First Time Since 2011
By Breakers Media Team · October 20, 2026
FREEPORT, Maine — Tuesday, October 20, 2026
Pine Tree Academy's boys varsity soccer team capped an extraordinary season Tuesday with a 6–0 shutout of Greenville, completing its regular-season schedule 12–0–0: 12 wins, no losses, no ties.
Over 12 games, the Breakers scored 72 goals while conceding just two. They recorded 10 shutouts overall—and have not allowed a goal since September 11, a remarkable 39-day streak spanning their final eight consecutive games.
Six Different Contributions to a 6–0 Finish
Fitzroy Hakizimana scored twice, while Rio Soram, Santiago 'Santi' Lopez, Collin Verrill and Sam Cornish each scored a goal. Santi Lopez, Lucky Kabeya, Fitzroy Hakizimana and Sam Cornish each contributed an assist. Tuesday's result capped a season marked by strong team play, balance and shutout defense.
Only the Second Perfect Regular Season in School History
An examination of Maine Soccer Coaches Association's historical MPA Heal Point archives found one previous Pine Tree Academy boys soccer team with an undefeated, untied regular season: 2011, when the Breakers also went 12–0–0 in Western Class D. That makes the 2026 Breakers the second documented team in PTA boys soccer history to finish a perfect regular season—and the first in 15 years.
No. 1 Seed, Rangeley Up Next
PTA leads the MPA South eight-player Heal Point standings, and Rangeley Lakes Regional sits eighth in the latest reported table. The Breakers' first-round playoff game against Rangeley is Tuesday, October 27, at 3:00 p.m., at PTA in Freeport (home fixture). It is a rematch of PTA's 8–0 victory over Rangeley on October 6. Final Heal Point indexes are still subject to official updates.
Regular-Season Scoring Leaders
With the perfect regular season in the record books, the Breakers now turn their focus to the eight-player South playoffs. The pursuit of postseason success begins against Rangeley on October 27.
