Breakers Rally Past Lisbon, 3-2, in Girls Soccer Scrimmage

LISBON, Maine — Pine Tree Academy's girls varsity soccer team opened its preseason with a 3-2 comeback win at Lisbon High School on Tuesday afternoon, September 1, answering two Lisbon goals with a pair of unanswered scores to close out the scrimmage.
The Breakers struck first, with Lisette opening the scoring for Pine Tree Academy. Lisbon responded with two goals to take a 2-1 lead, testing a Breakers side playing its first competition of the fall.
PTA answered with two unanswered goals from Chantal. Her second came off a perfectly placed throw-in from Acadia, with Chantal hustling onto the ball to finish the play and put the Breakers ahead for good.
In goal, Daphne turned away 7 shots to help protect the result.
The Breakers showed encouraging stretches on both sides of the ball. Pine Tree Academy connected its defensive and offensive lines, crashed the net to create scoring chances, and took multiple strong shots on goal. Communication on defense helped push the ball up the field and generate opportunities.
There were also moments to clean up. Breakdowns in pressure and coverage opened space for Lisbon toward goal, and spacing issues occasionally created a disconnect between the defense and offense.
The win gives Pine Tree Academy a positive foundation as the girls varsity program builds toward the fall season.
