Current Breakers Edge Alumni 7–6 in Alumni Weekend Soccer Match

Pine Tree Academy Alumni Weekend brought generations of Breakers together on the soccer field Friday, with the current PTA team earning a 7–6 win over the alumni in a fun and highly competitive match.

The game brought together former players from graduating classes spanning 1998 through 2020, creating a unique matchup between today's Breakers and alumni representing more than two decades of Pine Tree Academy soccer.

Former coaches also took part in the event, helping coach the alumni side and referee the match as the PTA soccer community came together for a game centered as much on connection and tradition as competition.

Longtime coach Leszek Krzywon, who coached at Pine Tree Academy for 16 years and led the boys varsity soccer team to a regional final, coached the alumni team. Ron Davis, who started the Pine Tree Academy soccer program in 1990, and Jeff Davis, a former PTA student and current assistant coach of the boys team, refereed the game. Ron and Jeff both have experience refereeing at professional levels of soccer.

Collin led the current Breakers with a hat trick, Fitz scored twice, and Camden and Thatcher each added a goal. Sam, Ben and Camden recorded assists.

The alumni answered with six goals: Levi scored twice, while Alex M., Dan, Rob and Shimmy each scored once. Levi had three assists, and Dan and Shimmy each added one.

The current Breakers ultimately came away with the 7–6 victory, but the close score reflected the competitive spirit of the alumni group and made for an entertaining Alumni Weekend matchup.

More than the result, the game offered current players a chance to share the field with former Breakers and celebrate the history of Pine Tree Academy soccer across generations.
