Telstar Edges Breakers, 1-0, in Double Overtime Regional Final

GARDINER, Maine — Pine Tree Academy's boys varsity soccer season ended one win short of a regional title, as Telstar claimed the eight-player South final 1-0 in double overtime at Gardiner Area High School.

Neither side broke through in regulation or in the first extra period. Cyrus Mills finally settled it for Telstar with the winning goal in the second overtime.

Breakers goalkeeper Colby Solberg was outstanding in the run of play, turning away 12 shots to keep Pine Tree Academy level deep into extra time.

The Breakers finished the season as the eight-player South regional finalist — the program's deepest postseason run in recent memory, and a marker for the seasons ahead.
