Breakers Blank Rangeley 5–0, Advance to Regional Semifinal Against Temple Academy

By Camden Brace · October 27, 2026

FREEPORT, Maine — Pine Tree Academy's boys varsity soccer team powered past Rangeley 5–0 at home on Tuesday, October 27, advancing from the MPA 8-Person South quarterfinal to a regional semifinal against Temple Academy.

A Relentless Breakers Attack

Lucky Kabeya opened the scoring from a corner and finished with one goal and one assist. His attacking ambition also included an attempted bicycle kick as the Breakers kept pressure on Rangeley.

Fitzroy Hakizimana led the way with two goals and one assist. His dribbling and attacks down the sidelines repeatedly challenged Rangeley's defense and helped drive PTA's five-goal performance.

Camden Brace stepped in for the absent Collin Verrill and contributed one goal and one assist. Santiago Lopez added one goal, and captain Rhett Tyson supplied one assist to round out the Breakers' attacking contributions.

An Impenetrable Back Line

Rio Soram, Ben Christman and captain Rhett Tyson formed an impenetrable back line, virtually preventing Rangeley from leaving its own half. Behind them, goalkeeper Abner Poland was outstanding, keeping the shutout intact.

That defense is the foundation of PTA's undefeated season. Through the quarterfinal, the Breakers have scored 77 goals while allowing just two—a balance of attacking firepower and defensive discipline that continues to carry them forward.
