Breakers Make the Most of Island Trip at Islesboro
By Breakers Media Team · September 10, 2026
The Pine Tree Academy boys varsity soccer team made the ferry ride to Islesboro worthwhile Thursday, turning in another strong performance while getting contributions from throughout the lineup.
Lucky Kabeya led the Breakers attack with a hat trick, while Fitzroy Hakizimana added a goal and two assists. Espa scored the first two varsity goals of his career, and Parker Yap joined him in reaching a milestone with his first varsity goal in the closing minutes.
Veteran captain Collin Verrill also found the net, finishing a beautiful cross from Rhett Tyson. Santi Lopez contributed two assists, while Camden Brace added another.
Beyond the scoring, the Breakers used the match as an opportunity to move players into different positions and give some of the team's newer players opportunities in the attack. The starters worked to create chances for their teammates, and Pine Tree Academy remained composed throughout the long road trip.
The day started with the team locked in on the ferry ride to the island and ended in memorable Maine fashion — with some of the players celebrating the victory by jumping into the ocean after the match.
The Breakers return home quickly for their next test, hosting Wiscasset on Friday, September 11 at 5:00 p.m. at the Pine Tree Academy fields.
