Verrill and Hakizimana Score Twice Each as Breakers Top Wiscasset, 4-1

The Pine Tree Academy boys varsity soccer team stayed unbeaten at home Friday, defeating Wiscasset 4-1 with an aggressive, connected team performance.

Collin Verrill and Fitzroy Hakizimana led the attack with two goals apiece. Rio Soram orchestrated much of the offense, finishing with three assists and several more strong passes that created chances for his teammates.

Camden Brace played well down the line, consistently taking on defenders and helping the Breakers stretch the Wiscasset defense.

The match also gave three eighth graders valuable varsity minutes. Asher Garcia, Sam Cornish, and Thatcher Trubey all saw the field and generated shooting and scoring opportunities of their own.

The Breakers played aggressively and well together from start to finish, building on their strong early-season form.

Pine Tree Academy is back in action on September 22, traveling to Temple Academy.
